Procedures

Your initial visit will consist of a thorough exam for the purpose of looking for any abnormalities that may have been undetected prior to being referred to our office. A series of radiographs may also be taken. After an explanation of what we found, a treatment plan will be devised and sequenced. Financial arrangements will also be discussed at the first visit or a subsequent consultation. As part of AZPerio’s commitment to patient comfort, all procedures may be performed with sedation dentistry.

Periodontal Disease

Periodontal disease occurs when a bacterial infection develops in the areas surrounding your teeth and begins to destroy the tissues, nerves, bones, and even your teeth. With millions of particles of bacteria found in a healthy mouth, it is easy to see that without proper oral hygiene, bacteria can quickly get out of control and bacterial infections can easily develop. Ridge Augmentation

Ridge Augmentation

Our teeth provide us with the ability to chew and speak clearly, and they need the support of the bone they are seated in too so that they can properly perform this function for us. But when a tooth is missing for a period of time the jawbone begins to recede, leaving an indentation where the bone and tooth would otherwise have filled that space. Learn more

Sinus Lift

Sinus Lift

An important factor in the success of a dental implant is the quantity and quality of the bone where the implant is to be placed. The upper back jaw has traditionally been one of the most difficult areas to successfully place dental implants; this is due to insufficient bone quantity and quality, and the close proximity to the sinus. Crown Lengthening

Crown Lengthening

The “crown” of a tooth is that part that is above the gums. If you have a tooth that needs a crown but has broken off too close to the gumline, or perhaps your gums have grown too far down onto the surface of your tooth, your dentist will likely perform a crown lengthening or aesthetic crown lengthening procedure. Soft Tissue Grafting

Soft Tissue Grafting

When your gums recede, the nerves at the base of your teeth are exposed. This can cause discomfort, even pain, when hot or cold foods or beverages come in contact with these exposed nerves. Even if you are not affected by nerve sensitivity, receding gums will also make your teeth appear longer, which can give your smile an awkward or less appealing appearance.

If your gums have receded, your dentist can perform a soft tissue grafting procedure which will cover the base of your teeth and eliminate the exposure of the nerves and restore your ability to consume hot or cold foods or beverages again. Learn more

Chao Pinhole Surgery Technique™

For patients diagnosed with receding gums or those who are showing signs of gum recession, AZPerio’s specialists may recommend the Pinhole Surgical Technique™ (PST) to enhance their smiles.
